Nestled back on alley 5 of Nguyễn Đình Chiểu behind Cafe Tí Nị is a little place called NoMad. It appears from the street to be indoors, but the roof is open to the air, and inside are grown a bunch of plants (and even a large tree). They do have a small indoor room, but there’s only one table there, and rather than continuing the nature theme they appear to sell a few motorbike parts from the shelves in there. On the whole the shop is not a big place and shows its age. For the animal lover, there are also a couple skinny cats who call this place home and will be happy to keep you company.
The menu is not large, containing Viet coffees, teas, sodas, and smoothies. They’ve got something they call a “Nomad Coffee,” which is evidently coffee with some type of alcohol. You can get a few other alcoholic drinks, though based on the bottles on the shelf, I wouldn’t expect a wide selection. Prices are reasonable, though. My black coffee was 25,000đ. It was strong and served in an uncharacteristically large glass, but also a bit bitter.
Verdict: There’s a nice aged vibe to NoMad, but it doesn’t fix the flavor. You’re better off going next door to Tí Nị.
