254 Thống Nhất, Gò Vấp District, Hồ Chí Minh (entrance on Nguyễn Văn Lượng)

Happy House is one of the large “House” shops in Gò Vấp district, the others being City House, Country House, and Food House. They’re all enormous, highly stylized locations that can seat hundreds on their terraced balconies. They’re popular with college students and older adults alike. You’ll find lots of seating arrangements, and if you like sitting on the floor, Happy House is the best of the series for you – there’s tons of floor seating both indoors and outdoors.
The menu, like its brethren, is large and includes food. You can get any number of coffees, teas, milk teas, juice, smoothies, and various cocktails. The basic black coffee costs 28,000đ and comes very strong. It’s served in traditional fashion, still dripping from the phin, leaving it to you to pour it over ice. I like that style – it makes it clear they’re not skimping on the coffee grounds, and allows you to go light on the ice if you prefer. And of course, it means the brewed coffee has not been sitting in a jar since early in the morning.
Note that Google Maps lists Happy House Thống Nhất Phường street, but the entrance is actually on Nguyễn Văn Lượng street. And watch out; if you search google maps for “happy house,” it may send you to an alley about a kilometer east down Nguyễn Văn Lượng. To bring up the right spot, put in the official address (254 Thống Nhất Phường).
Verdict: I prefer the styling at City and Country house a bit more, but aside from that, I have no real complaints about Happy House.
